Will new parliament “score” with a white paper?
Electing the Speaker of Parliament, is the first test for the new parliament, rather, for both the old, and the new political forces coming on a white horse to the world of parliament. In principle, there is no serious candidate for the post other than President Nabih Berri. The twenty-seven Shiite representatives are all from the Shiite Duo, as there is not a single Shiite representative outside the framework of dualism. On the other hand, it is not possible to elect a non-Shiite deputy for the post. The hinting of some regarding this matter, is nothing more than whirlwind in a cup. The abolition of political sectarianism should be based on all positions, not “on the piece” and as needed. So, what should the sovereign and transformative forces do? The white paper is the answer. The real forces of change that want to prove the legitimacy of their experiment must vote with a white paper. The same applies to sovereign powers. But if the mentioned forces entered the buying and selling bazaar, then this means that they are not better off than some of the forces of the so-called opposition, that brought us to what we have reached. Therefore, the election of the Speaker of the House is the key and the test. So, will the new deputies succeed in passing the exam and in drawing a new scene in Parliament?
