“Sawt Beirut International” news bulletin for Thursday, January 28, 2021

In today’s bulletin:

– Whoever is hungry does not conspire, the people of Tripoli want bread and medicine, not weapons.
– When will the Lebanese receive the vaccine? Answers to be delivered, starting today.
– Bahaa Hariri offers 400 oxygen devices, with further steps to be taken.

It is Tripoli’s cry from both the heart and the pain. The Tripolitans want medicine and a loaf, not a weapon, and their taking to the street was out of need and a refusal to lockdown without compensation, especially since most of them are daily laborers, that is, if they do not work, they do not get paid. But with the spontaneous movement, there is a hand or hands that infiltrated Tripoli’s movement, which requires the security forces and the concerned agencies, to reveal the identity of these hands publicly, in a time the authority is trying to mitigate the impact of what is happening in Tripoli by talking about malicious hands and conspiracies as if hunger was not enough to spark Tripoli’s movement.
In parallel, a prominent development took place in the confrontation issue between the Governor of the Banque du Liban and the government, although being ambiguous and indirect. The Appeal Public Prosecutor in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, had accused Salameh and the head of the Banking Control Committee, Maya Dabbagh, for the crime of job negligence and breach of trust, as she also filed a lawsuit against Michel Mkattaf, owner of a prominent company that imports dollars from abroad, and the money changer, Abdel Rahman Al-Fayed, for violating an administrative decision, and referred them all to the first investigative judge in Mount Lebanon, Judge Nicolas Mansour, for questioning.
On the other hand, judicial sources made it clear that the prosecution of Salameh and others is illegal, and that his prosecution for the alleged crimes reverts to the Financial Public Prosecution.
The question is, if this claim is illegal, how will it be pursued?
