A brief of today’s news bulletin:
“what’s happening is unfortunate, it is not acceptable to change Judge Al-Bitar again because this will lose the investigation’s credibility.” Who believes that this phrase is for President Najib Mikati? The prime minister, who closed his mouth and did not say a single word about Wafiq Safa’s visit to Adliya, suddenly decided to take a stand on what is happening at the judicial level. Mikati’s position came, as usual, late… too late. Unfortunately, today is no longer useful. That is because Hezbollah intervened in the case and mobilized its allies and friends, so the lawsuits of response and legitimate suspicion aimed at preventing Judge Tariq Al-Bitar from completing his investigations. When will Mikati know that regret, crying and tears are not a signs of strength? The authority is prestige and dignity above all else. The governance is initiative and footsteps, not retreat and submission.
So, let the Prime Minister therefore stop deceiving the Lebanese with regret and pain every time he talks about a subject, especially when he talks about something related to Iran and Hezbollah.
Mikati has authority. Either he exercises it to deserve it, or he enters the Guinness Book of Records as the most prime minister expressing his regret and sadness without making any decision. And for the occasion: Does Prime Minister, who is sorry for what happened judicially, know that more than thirteen months after the port crime, Ibrahim Harb died yesterday of his injuries as a result of the terrible explosion? Ibrahim Harb is the 217th victim of the port. Hoping that justice will not be victim 218 with such a corrupt and murderous political class!!
