Serving Lebanon or Gebran Bassil?!

After much effort, the President of the Republic decided to call for binding parliamentary consultations. But the strange thing is that Michel Aoun, instead of calling for consultations either at the end of this week or at the beginning of next week, postponed them to the middle of next week, that is, after seven days altogether.

Is the delay in conducting consultations permissible to this extent? Has the Constitution become, with its articles, a point of view as well? Unfortunately, this is the reality… and when did he know the reason, the hero of love. The reason is, as usual, the son-in-law of the covenant, Gibran Bassil. The latter does not want a government except according to his conditions, and he only wants a prime minister who responds to his demands. And because Mikati is the only one proposed for assignment, and because Mikati did not accept the Basilian conditions, the consultations were delayed for a whole month.

Also, these consultations may be postponed again if Mikati does not comply with Basil’s conditions. So once again we are at the mercy of Gibran Bassil and his whims and desires. Once again, we are faced with the following equation: Either we submit to Basil’s conditions, or there is no government or those who govern. So, is Michel Aoun’s era an era in the service of Lebanon or in the service of Gibran’s ambitions?
