Sawt Beirut International News Bulletin – March 23, 2021

A brief of today’s news bulletin:

  • Lebanon is at standstill, so will Aoun and Hariri play the role of rescuer?
  • How do the lawmakers view the constitutional violations in the government formation, and how will citizens react?
  • The birth of the government has failed, and the Lebanese pound has tumbled again against dollar, leading to a surge in commodity prices.

Thanks for you both, you have done your duty towards Lebanon and its citizens, and we meant by both the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate. Both are equal partners in destroying the country and abolishing what remains. People are extremely suffering and they are busy in looking for their benefits and authorities. A frightening number of citizens mainly youth are emigrating, and the officials are busy with the number of ministers in the government that was not born. Unemployment rates hit the highest records, the economic situation is getting worse, and they are thinking about the blocked third. The situation cannot be tolerated anymore; however, Aoun and Hariri still have the luxury of wasting time and opportunities. The Lebanese were waiting on Thursday the Monday meeting, and built hopes on it, as we expected that they finally decided to prioritize the country’s interest.

What was the result? More discomfiture than all the previous ones, as the deteriorated relationship between the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate still dominates. They want the citizens to hold the responsibility of this deteriorated relationship from October 17, 2019 until today. When our officials will get rid of their excessive selfishness and prioritize the country and the citizens’ interests on their personal interest? When will they relinquish sects in their political battles, so that every clash between politics turn into a conflict among the Lebanese? When will the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate realize that they should either agree very quickly on forming a government, or they split? Keeping the country in this absolute situation is no longer acceptable and is a crime against everyone, so will the two presidents play the role of savior, even after seven months of delay? Or will they continue to fight over the citizen’s lives, and future?
