Sawt Beirut International’s News Bulletin – Feb. 19, 2021

In today’s news bulletin:

  • What is the fate of the investigation into the explosion of the port of Beirut after the disqualification of Sawan? Does anyone cover the crime?
  • Parliamentary by-elections are suspended and the authority is afraid of violating the constitution
  • Have university hospitals in Beirut exceeded the Ministry of Health platform dedicated to the Corona vaccine?

The explosive earthquake on the fourth of August was followed yesterday by a legal judicial earthquake. Fadi Sawan is no longer responsible for the port bombing file, and the file will be transferred to another judge. This is how the corrupt political class wanted, and this is what happened.

Popularly, the atmosphere is charged, and souls are angry. How can the murderous political system allow itself to push for the transfer of a judge who has been busy investigating the most serious judicial case that Lebanon has known for six months?

Everyone knows that Sawan would not have met this fate if he had not reached the main pillars of the political class. Just as a reminder, the campaign against Sawan began when he accused the Prime Minister-designate, Hassan Diab, and three former ministers, Ghazi Zuaiter, Ali Hassan Khalil and Youssef Fenianos. As a reminder, Judge Sawan was preparing to expand the accusation circle to include other political figures suspected of being linked to the bombing file. For this very reason, Sawan was transfered and for this reason also the investigation as a whole is threatened to stop. What confirms that the political class that does not agree on anything, basically, will not gather against the new judicial investigator, just as it gathered against Sawan? And what confirms that the corrupt elements of the republic will not do everything in their power to prevent access to the truth and to prevent justice?

The power mafia is doing everything in its power to dilute the truth. The truth can only be reached by two means. Either the civil society forms a fence around the judiciary to protect it from blatant political interference and fortify the status of the judiciary, or we resort to internationalizing the case by going to an international court. And what else is a waste of time and effort, but rather a waste of the innocent blood that fell in the bombing of the port

Dear Lebanese, the final confrontation with the corrupt ruling regime is approaching. Prepare your souls for the major confrontation and let your hearts be of flint so that the massacre of the harbor is not repeated elsewhere and so that the victims of August 4th do not die twice.
