Sawt Beirut International’s News Bulletin – March 6, 2021

A brief of tonight’s News Bulletin:

  • Between Baabda and Beit El Wasat, obstruction charges are flung back and forth. Now, who is actually obstructing the formation of a government?
  • The siege is tightening around the necks, with bread and gasoline running out, hospitalization in jeopardy, and an explosion looming.
  • The school year and the educational sector are beset by indecision, loss, and uncertainty.

Failure to act on the topic of auditing must be investigated to the fullest extent possible, and the audit in question concerns the accounts of the Banque du Liban as well as the accounts of ministries, councils, and public funds. General, and this was to pave the ground for the state’s departments and organizations to begin the forensic audit procedure. On that day, the deputies were highly proud of what they had accomplished, believing they had accomplished a historic feat in record time. After two and a half months, it is apparent to everyone that the ostensible accomplishment was nothing more than a legal parliamentary fabrication. Nothing concrete yet, after all.

It appears that the year will pass without any inspection being necessary for any firm that has not yet been launched, which is not surprising. This law was not approved by the political system except to buy time and reduce street tensions. In truth, it does not want to be investigated since there is no way for officials and political parties to know what they took from the public treasury and what they stole from the state treasury. They did it against the people, and just as its criminals cannot be its protectors, the inquiry cannot be overseen by this dishonest and corrupt political elite. Ordinary criminals aren’t trusted with anything, but just imagine that these government thieves robbed the state and impoverished the people!
