In terms of the number of worldwide travelers, Dubai International Airport remained the world’s busiest hub in 2021.

According to the Airports Council International annual report, the city witnessed 29.1 million passengers in 2021, a 12.7 percent increase from the previous year.

With hopeful signs of traffic recovery, total worldwide travelers in 2021 are expected to be approximately 4.5 billion, a 25% rise from 2020.

The report featured the top ten busiest airports in the world, which accounted for around 10% of global traffic.

It was highlighted that eight of the top ten airports for passenger traffic are in the United States, with the other two in China.
