EU imposes tariffs on stainless steel from India, Indonesia

After an investigation revealed that cold-rolled flat stainless-steel products from India and Indonesia were being sold at artificially low prices, the European Union imposed tariffs on their imports.

According to the EU official journal, the European Commission, which conducted the investigation, has set duties of 10.2 percent for Indonesia’s IRNC and 20.2 percent for other Indonesian producers.

Jindal Stainless Ltd and Jindal Stainless Hisar Ltd have rates of 13.9 percent, while other Indian producers have rates of 35.3 percent.

The Commission stated that the anti-dumping duties, which will go into effect on Friday, are intended to compensate EU producers such as Acerinox and Outokumpu.
