On Tuesday, Fadi Abou Chakra, the representative of Lebanon’s Fuel Distributors, informed the National News Agency that 140 gas stations had refused to accept gasoline from corporations “because of the humiliation, blackmailing, and abuse they are facing.”
“They could not protect themselves,” he said, calling upon the security forces and Major General Imad Othman to defend the facilities.
“Gas stations’ owners and fuel distributors are not the cause of the crisis,” he maintained. “They are facing pressures and problems due to (fuel) quantity shortage.”
