Lebanese pound has lost more than 90% of its value in two years
Black- market dollar continues to rise today, Tuesday, as it recorded 17,600 Lebanese pounds for sale, and 17,650 pounds for purchase.
Banque du Liban is seeking to find some solutions to confront the food shortage, as it announced on Monday that it will pay up to $400 million to finance imports of vital medicines and flour.
Lebanese banks set the price of 3850 pounds per dollar to small depositors, when withdrawing.
On the other hand, the Syndicate of Money Changers in Lebanon established the pricing of the dollar exchange rate against the Lebanese pound, with a moving margin between the price of 3850 pounds for purchase, and 3900 pounds for sale, as a maximum.
The exchange rate of the dollar in the Central Bank of Lebanon remained at 1507.5 pounds per dollar, and it is allocated to some basic commodities only.
