A promise from the Minister of the Interior to restore the confidence of the Gulf states in Lebanon

Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi confirmed after a security meeting that follow-up is continuing on the issue of smuggling through all crossings, especially drugs.

Mawlawi pointed out that the Arab countries have always been on the side of Lebanon, and it is our duty to secure confidence in our country, to achieve the interest of our country, and to comfort the Lebanese citizens at home or those in Arab countries.

Mawlawi continued: “Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states have always stood with Lebanon, and all necessary measures must be taken to restore confidence, and this matter is one of the Ministry of Interior’s first concerns, and I promise to control the borders.”

He pointed out that “trust is to control the borders, and I promise this, and the internal security forces are making a tremendous effort, but what is required is a double effort, and the result is that there is no smuggling through Lebanon.”
