The Syrian activist, Maysoon Bayrakdar, published through her personal account on “Facebook” a call recording she had with Minister of Information George Kordahi.

Bayrakdar, who did not reveal her identity at the beginning of the call, congratulated Kordahi on his ministerial position and had the following conversation with him:

“We are waiting for your visit to Syria,” Kordahi replied, “Of course, we are one.” She said: “We will not forget your support and kindness to us.”

He replied, “No Dear, we are always one hand.”

During the conversation, Bayrakdar pointed out that the slogan “Hope in action” was the same as the slogan of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Kordahi asked if it was really the same slogan. When she answered, confirming, he said to her: “Great, it is innocent then.” The activist laughed.

Kordahi added: “Let the ministerial statement end and the government take the confidence, then I will be open to all interviews.”

Kordahi affirmed: “Of course, I am with President Bashar al-Assad, and I am not hostile to him.” He continued: “My position is fix and will not change.”

When Kordahi asked if the caller took a press statement or an interview from him, she assured to him that “the conversation is friendly and not recorded.”

During the conversation, Kordahi considered that “Syria has reached the end of the tunnel and is exiting from it, and we hope the refugees will return while they are not comfortable outside their country, and no one is comfortable outside his country, and the conditions of Lebanon affect Syria and Caesar’s decision as well.”

He stressed that “Hezbollah is a Lebanese component, and it is my duty to confess its existence and support it in its work and its resistance to liberate the south and other.”

After Bayrakdar revealed to him that she is not a supporter of the regime and that she is from the opposition, Kordahi became agitated and told her, “You killed people and destroyed Syria, look where you brought Syria,” adding:
“I knew you were going here by speaking.”
