Abdel Samad represents Aoun at handover ceremony of governorship of District 351 of Lions Clubs: There is no peace without justice

A handover ceremony was held by the International Lions Club Association, District 351 (Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine), between former director, Dr. Jean-Claude Saadeh, and Governor Aida Kaawar, at the Shiyah Municipality Theater, under the patronage of President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, represented by caretaker Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad.

At the end of the ceremony, Minister Abdel Samad gave a speech touching on the charitable, social, and reform activities of the Lions Club. “There is nothing more beautiful than that our societies grow according to a system of fraternity and solidarity in which prejudices, fanaticism, and indifference dissolve and humanity rises.”

Turning her attention to the Beirut port explosion commemoration, Abdel Samad saluted the souls of the victims and their families, the homeless and the wounded, and confirmed once again that “there is no peace or safety without justice, as it protects us, fortifies our homeland, and consolidates the concepts of humanity and the rule of law.”

“And as if Lebanon’s dreadful economic crisis and the coronavirus pandemic, weren’t enough, today the most terrible environmental disaster was added to the burden, which the fires that devoured Akkar’s natural wealth,” she went on.

“Our friends at the Lions Club, your projects call for brotherhood, equality and spreading the bonds of love and goodness. They stimulate the spirit of cooperation between peoples, by providing educational and medical services, consolidating environmental projects, promoting educational and cultural initiatives, and encouraging convergence and the exchange of ideas,” the minister said, wishing Mrs. Aida Kaawar success in her new position.
