MP Simon Abi Ramia hosted a luncheon banquet at his home in Ehmej on Saturday in honor of the French Senate delegation, compromising French-Lebanese Friendship Committee Chair in the French Senate Christine Lavard and Committee members, in presence of the French Parliamentary Friendship Committee Head in the Lebanese Senate, MP Ibrahim Azar, and Deputies Alain Aoun and Tarek al-Merehbi, alongside the personal representative of the President of the Republic in the Organization of La Francophonie, Jarjoura Hardan.
The luncheon was a chance for the attendees to discuss the historical bilateral relationship between Lebanon and France and the importance of the role France is currently playing in helping Lebanon get out of its crisis.
Lavard thanked Abi Ramia for his invitation, stressing “the official French decision to stand by Lebanon in the crisis it is going through.”
For his part, Abi Ramia emphasized, in his word, “the need for the Lebanese leaders to assume their responsibilities to get out of the crisis,” saying: “We thank France for always standing by Lebanon, and it has contributed to restoring hope to the Lebanese in wake of the Beirut Port explosion.”
Abi Ramia concluded by announcing that “regular meetings will be held between the two committees for more cooperation and coordination.”
