Abou Faour appeals to Mikati to take legal measures against violating banks after paying salaries in USD

Member of Parliament Wael Abu Faour called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to discuss the theft operations carried out by some Lebanese banks against a number of Lebanese citizens in the past two days, after paying their salaries and monthly dues in US dollars at Sayrafa’s exchange rate, which led to a described theft of part of their salaries.

Abu Faour wished, according to a statement, that PM Mikati should take legal measures against these banks, as well as find a mechanism to return the money that was deducted from citizens’ salaries, and to ensure that this matter will not be repeated, and to put an end to these practices in the banking sector.

For the same purpose, Abou Faour contacted the Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh calling for his intervention to curb this matter, and to take measures against the violating banks.”
