Representative of fuel distributors, Fadi Abu Shakra, confirmed that “we were informed by some importing companies that there will be a meeting on Monday, and there are companies that do not deliver gasoline, and rationing has reached 50 percent, which is reflected on the citizen.
Abu Shakra said in a television interview: “The owners of the stations are the victims, we are optimistic and making lots of contacts until we reach the required solution, but the citizen is living a great concern.”
On the other hand, Abu Shakra previously reassured that fuel quantities are available at th companies according to agreements and contracts.
He explained that “congestion at the stations recently was due to leaked rumors about lifting subsidies, which caused a state of panic among the citizens who flocked to the gas stations, which was unable to meet such a huge demand.”
Abu Shakra announced that he had contacts with the state’s concerned parties and with the caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab, and they all confirmed that there is no subsidize lifting at the present time without an alternative plan.”
