The office of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Muhammad Fahmy, issued the following statement:

In view of the popular protests taking place in the Awkar region, the Minister of Interior stresses his support for peaceful expression in any demonstration or movement, and at the same time affirms the security forces ’keenness to protect private property exactly like public property.

He wishes all citizens to abide by the laws and demonstrate peacefully, without violating any property.
