Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement, ” the current wave of locusts that swept through some of the Lebanese eastern and northeastern borders, which were estimated at hundreds of thousands of locust insects, has been controlled  by combating it as soon as it entered the Lebanese borders and some areas adjacent to the border.”

It added: “The Ministry of Agriculture is interested in informing citizens and farmers that some limited swarms in specific pockets and areas that are being monitored and dealt with, stressing the permanent cooperation with the army leadership, and “we are grateful for their prompt response and the usual dedication as well as the specialized teams in the ministry and Municipalities in order to preserve national food security and farmers’ livelihood.”
