Ajaqa: The government should quickly meet

The economic expert Jassem Ajaqa called on the government to meet quickly to decide on the diplomatic crisis because its repercussions will be very negative on the crisis Lebanese economy.

Ajaqa explained in a radio interview that the foreign aid that the government hopes to obtain through friendly countries constitute 45 percent of the funding it needs to implement its rescue plan, and therefore the continuation of the crisis will increase the burdens on the citizens and prolong the life of the crisis.

He stressed that there are no external sources to finance the increase in transportation allowance and the minimum wage, and it is impossible to finance it from taxes. Therefore, Ajaqa believes that more lira will be printed, which will increase the pressure on the black market and raise the exchange rate of the dollar.
