Deputy Prime Minister, Caretaker Minister of National Defense, Zeina Akar, on Wednesday received in her office MP Qassem Hashem, with whom she discussed the current general situation.
Minister Akar also received Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexandre Rodakov, with talks reportedly touching on the current political situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Akar later met with Denmark’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Merete Juhl, with whom she discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the aid provided by Denmark, especially in the wake of the Beirut port explosion and during the Coronavirus pandemic crisis.
Among Minister Akar’s itinerant visitors for today had been Joe Issa Khoury, accompanied by Tarek Demiati.
On the other hand, Akar met with the UNHCR Regional Director for the MENA region, Ayman Gharaibeh, the head of the UNHCR delegation in Lebanon, Ayaki Ito, the Regional Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Khaled Abdel Shafi, and the UNDP Resident Representative for Lebanon, Celine Moyroud, with talks touching on aid provided by the international organizations and ways to coordinate and develop projects.
