Deputy Prime Minister, Caretaker Minister of National Defense and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Zeina Akar, issued a statement today “strongly” condemning  the terrorist attack on Al-Sadr City, east of Baghdad, during the blessed Adha Eid, in which “dozens of innocent citizens were killed or wounded, in addition to destabilizing Iraq and harming vulnerable civilians.”

In the statement, Akar confirmed “Lebanon’s entire solidarity and support for the Republic of Iraq, its people, and its government.”. She has also expressed her “sincere sympathies to the brotherly Iraqi people and the relatives of the victims,” and wished the wounded and injured “a speedy recovery.”
