Caretaker Health Minister, Firas Al-Abyad, on Thursday expressed hope that a new government would be formed soon, pointing out in an interview with the “Voice of All Lebanon” radio station that “PM-designate Najib Mikati had informed the cabinet that he was keen on forming a new government.”

The Health Minister considered that the possibility of a presidential vacuum worried all sides alike, stressing that “no one seeks national instability, so everyone must exert enormous efforts to ensure the continuity of state facilities.”

Regarding cancer and dialysis medicines, Abyad explained that “the main problem lies in funding,” noting that “work is underway to increase funding away from waste or corruption.”
