Al-Ashqar called on the tourism sector to close on August 4

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the explosion in the port of Beirut, the head of the Federation of Tourist Syndicates in Lebanon, Pierre Ashkar, announced in a statement today, that the entire tourism sector is joining all those affected by the explosion, especially the families of the victims and martyrs.

Pointing out that “the tourism sector is the most affected by the explosion among the economic sectors,” he called on the tourism sector institutions with their various activities to close on August 4, expressing strong condemnation of this tragic and catastrophic event and in solidarity with the families of the victims and martyrs in their just national cause.

Al-Ashqar also called on the hotels, “because of their inability to close, to stop working for one minute, at 6:10 am next Wednesday, coinciding with the moment of the explosion.”
