Abbas Al-Halabi, the caretaker government’s minister of education and higher education, modified the previous decision to close schools in the southern regions, limiting the closure to only public and private schools as well as vocational schools located in villages that are completely adjacent to the southern international border, with the condition that classes resume at all other schools spread across all districts.
Al-Halabi pleaded with the populace to “follow the ministry’s data day by day to follow developments and maintain the start of the school year.”
