Al-shami’s press office: ‘Capitol control’ bill on the agenda for Tuesday’s Parliament session

The press office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Saadeh Al-Shami, indicated, in an issued statement today, that “the meetings with the International Monetary Fund continued throughout this week, most of them focusing on the ‘Capitol Control’ bill to take the Fund’s opinion and observations, at the request of members of Parliament,” adding that “the project law was referred to the joint parliamentary committees for discussion on Monday, after which it will be placed on the Parliament’s agenda in its session next Tuesday.”

Additionally, the statement also disclosed that “this week, the Deputy Prime Minister called for consultative meetings to discuss the outlines of the economic and financial recovery plan, on the basis of which negotiations with the International Monetary Fund are to be conducted, and to this end, three meetings were held with representatives of depositors, the labor union, trade unions and a group of economists and experts in financial affairs and with representatives of economic authorities and the Association of Banks.”

“These meetings were very useful, and the observations and suggestions made during these deliberations will be taken into consideration for discussion with the International Monetary Fund mission, which will begin its work in Beirut next week,” the Deputy Prime Minister’s statement concluded.
