An Emirati academic confirms what SBI published about UAE’s intent to sell its embassy in Lebanon

The Emirati academic and Political Science Professor Abdul Khaliq Abdullah confirmed the authenticity of the news that the headquarters of the UAE embassy in Beirut was up for sale.

He stressed that “there is no return to Lebanon after today under the rule and control of an Iranian party over Lebanon’s sovereign decision.”

Abdullah said in a tweet via his Twitter account: “The news that the headquarters of the UAE embassy in Beirut was offered for sale is 100% true. The UAE wants to establish a relationship with the state of Lebanon and dialogue with a national government in Lebanon, not dialogue with the state and government of the Iranian party in Lebanon. The UAE’s message is strong and clear: There is no return to Lebanon after today, under the rule and control of an Iranian party over Lebanon’s sovereign decision.”

A senior Emirati source confirmed to “Sawt Beirut International” that the headquarters of the Emirati embassy in Lebanon is for sale.

He added, “There is no longer any Emirati diplomat or employee from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon,” noting that “their return is linked to the return of sovereignty for this country.”
