The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, responded this morning to the increased surge in the number of persons infected with the COVID-19 outbreak, following a period of reduction, expressing his concern about the developing reality.
He urged “quickly implementing the required measures to restrict the development of the epidemic again, reacting to planned vaccination efforts, improving the level of essential preventative measures, and increasing the readiness of government and private institutions to confront any emergency.”
President Aoun discussed the country’s general health situation with Charaf Abou Charaf, president of the Syndicate of Lebanese Doctors in Beirut, who briefed him on the current situation, emphasizing the “necessity of placing the country on high alert to confront the renewed spread of the epidemic and the new transgenic that appeared in a number of countries, especially including Arab countries.”
