President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, chaired a meeting attended by Finance Minister, Ghazi Wazny, Energy Minister, Raymond Ghajar and Central Bank Governor, Riad Salameh, today at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting was devoted to tackle the fuel situation and its repercussions.
Several proposals were studied to address the fuel crisis and avoid any negative repercussions which would affect the security and livelihood stability in Lebanon.
Afterwards, the President phone-called Prime Minister, Dr. Hassan Diab, and discussed with him the points which were raised, and it was decided accordingly to take exceptional-practical measures to enable the BDL to make the necessary arrangements to limit the expansion of the crisis, pending the legislation which is being studied on the Parliament, which would provide comprehensive solutions on the issue of subsidies.
