President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, affirmed his “determination to continue the struggle to correct the mistakes committed against the Lebanese people, despite the obstacles placed in the way and the deliberate and systematic disruption of constitutional and judicial institutions.”
Aoun hoped, during his reception of delegations from the security and military leaders, that they congratulated him on the holidays, that the coming year would witness the beginning of correcting the painful situation, which negatively affected the citizens’ lives, livelihoods and their social and health stability.
He said, “The causes that led to the Lebanese suffering from multiple economic, social, health and educational crises must be confronted, and those responsible must be held accountable.”
In turn, the Director-General of State Security, Major General Tony Saliba, said after meeting Aoun: “The enemies of the homeland are many, but we are on the lookout for them around the clock, and the more doubt spreads about the survival of the homeland’s boat, the more we are certain of weathering the storm when you are the captain.”
