The Head of the Parliamentary Health Committee MP Assem Araji said on his Twitter account that the World Health Organization rejected the decision of rich countries to administer the booster jab to their citizens, before increasing the amount of vaccines provided for poor countries, and raising the low vaccination rollout.
Araji added: “This is considered distinction, and will make the possibility of getting infected in more contagious variants bigger.”
He added, “Herd immunity and inoculating poor people is a priority to curb the spread of Covid-19.”
On the other hand, a statistic for “Reuters” showed that more than 216.97 million people were infected with the Corona virus worldwide, while the death toll from the virus reached 4,685,233.
Infections with the virus have been recorded in more than 210 countries and regions since the first cases were discovered in China in December 2019.
