Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Louis Lahoud, affirmed that “the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture constitutes only 0.8% of the budget of the whole state,” stressing that “the agricultural sector must be supported, like the surrounding countries.”
Lahoud indicated via a radio interview, that the issue of prices of agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits is related to the Ministry of Economy.
He said, “We agreed with it to monitor the markets periodically in terms of controlling prices and the process of cooperation between the farmer and the wholesale market, and the prices follow the dollar and the fuels, that affect the cost of transportation and others.”
