“As long as fuel oil is provided, Internet will not be switched off,” Minister of Telecommunications confirms

The Caretaker Minister of Telecommunications, Talal Hawat, toured with the Chairman-Director General Middle East Airlines Airliban, Mohamad El Hout, in the company’s training and conference center, where he was given a detailed explanation of “the stages of establishment and the services it provides, in comparison with the most important global centers.”

Throughout his tour, El Hout expressed sincere “concern over the negative effects of the network outage on aviation navigation.” “The internet will not be disrupted as long as the fuel oil is ensured and the Bank of Lebanon provides the appropriate credit lines for its purchase,” Hawat reassured.

He has also referred to the meeting held yesterday at the Grand Serail, which was chaired by President Hassan Diab and attended by the Ministers of Finance and Energy, and at which it was agreed to give the Telecommunications Sector highest priority of trying to secure fuel oil, as well as to raise Ogero’s budget.

Hawat has also expressed “gratitude and admiration for Middle East Airlines and its personnel, who are still fulfilling their duty to the utmost, at all levels, despite the terrible situations the country is going through.”

It’s worth noting that the “Training and Conference Center” was built in two stages, the first of which was finished in 2005 and the second in 2017. The project has a total area of 43,500 square meters and comprises sections and programs for all types of aviation professionals, including ground crew, pilots, flight attendants, technicians, and administrators.
