“Atmosphere in Security Council was positive,” says UN’s Wronecka

Today, Najib Mikati, the caretaker prime minister, attended diplomatic and ministerial discussions in the Grand Serail. In this regard, he met with the UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Yoanna Wronecka, who stated after the meeting: “I came to brief President Mikati about the Security Council meeting that was conducted on July 21 in New York, where I delivered a presentation on the happenings in Lebanon.”

I can say that the atmosphere in the Security Council was positive, and the members of the Council supported the achievement of economic and social reforms in Lebanon, the formation of a government as soon as possible and respect for the constitution, and at the appointed time the election of a new president who supports stability in Lebanon and the interests of the Lebanese.”
