Businessman Bahaa Hariri considered that tackling corruption in Lebanon is a prerequisite for tackling governance and the economic crisis.

“We support the position of the US Treasury delegation that visited Lebanon, and stressed the need for the Lebanese government to implement deep and meaningful reforms before the elections,” he said via Twitter.

He added, “We urge the delegation’s reference to Qard Hassan, which the United States has classified as an example of a fake, unregulated financial institution that violates an NGO license granted by the Ministry of Interior and provides a cover for Hezbollah’s financial activity, threatening the credibility of the Lebanese financial system.”
