Sheikh Bahaa Hariri wrote on his Twitter account: “We deplore the rumors that the corrupt political class has decided not to allow expatriates to vote during the upcoming elections on the grounds of a lack of logistical capacity.”

Hariri added: “Today, the authority is trying to isolate Lebanon from its vital artery of expatriates aspiring to change the dire situation in their motherland through the ballot box, so Lebanon can return to being the beacon of the East.”
