Banque du Liban, in a notification issued today, informed the public that it will put into circulation as of 1-12-2021 a new banknote of 10000/L.L (ten thousand pounds) signed by the Governor of the Banque du Liban Riad Salameh and the First Deputy Governor of the Banque du Liban Waseem Mansouri.
The specifications of the new banknote are as follows:
1 – Issue date: The date of issuance of the new banknote is April 1, 2021.
2 – Measurement: The measurement of the new banknote is the same as the current circulating banknote of the same denomination.
3- Color: The color of the new banknote is the same as the color of the current circulating banknote of the same denomination.
4 – Safety features: The visual safety features on the new banknote are the same as those on the current circulating banknote of the same denomination, with the exception of the safety thread, which has been developed so that it has become purple in color, and contains geometric graphics that move when moving the banknote vertically.
The new banknotes are placed in circulation along with the currently in circulation of the same denomination.
