The Head of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) MP Gebran Bassil, wrote on Twitter: “The parliament session scheduled for tomorrow is illegal because the legal mechanism stipulated in Article 93 of the House of Representatives’ by-laws and Articles 20 and 22 of the Code of Procedure before the Supreme Council have not been respected. The session is thus illegal and all its decisions unbinding.”

“The FPM’s position is principled and calls for lifting the immunities that prevent those responsible for the port explosion from being held accountable. We reject the attempt by some in the House of Representatives to circumvent the judiciary and prevent it from completing its investigations, in order to reach the truth… We will not tolerate the obliteration of the truth,” Bassil said.
