The Banque du Liban released a new circular that extended the terms of Circular No. 161 until March 31, 2022.

According to the statement:

“Riad Salameh, Governor of the Banque du Liban, said that the Central Council agreed to prolong the effects of Circular No. 161 until the end of March 2022, subject to extension.”

The governor also affirmed that banks continue to deal in US dollar banknotes in exchange for Lebanese pound banknotes, with no precise ceiling on the pricing of the “Sayrafa” platform.
