The head of the Syndicate of Food Importers, Hani Bohsali, explained that “the prices of food stuffs have increased 3 times, and when we were talking about reducing prices, the dollar was around 14,000 Lebanese pounds, and fuels were not that high.”

He pointed out in a television interview, that “the increase in prices may reach 20%, and this is only due to the increase in fuel, without addressing the dollar exchange rate.”

Bohsali pointed out, “We have witnessed a sharp rise in the prices of fuels, and gasoline and diesel fuel are important to the sector.”

In this context, the sources of the Ministry of Economy confirmed to “LBCI” that it is making tours of the shops to monitor and control prices.
