Beirut hosts UNRWA advisory committee meetings

The UNRWA will convene in Beirut on the 14th and 15th of this month, with the UNRWA financial crisis, strategic goals, and the challenges posed by the Russian-Ukrainian war on global and regional security, as well as the renewal of its mandate in September, on the agenda.

The meeting takes place in light of the complex circumstances and numerous challenges confronting the international organization founded in 1949, including self-challenges such as financing and sustainability, as well as regional challenges such as the continuation of the region’s conflicts and lack of stability, at a time when Lebanon, which chairs the committee this session, aspires to play a role in putting forward a framework of treatments at the strategic levy level.
