On Tuesday, House Speaker Nabih Berri hosted Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh, where they delved into the latest political and field developments in the country.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Mikati updated Speaker Berri on the outcomes of his international engagements regarding Lebanon and the regional situation.
Subsequently, Speaker Berri met with UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini, accompanied by UNRWA Affairs Director in Lebanon Dr. Dorothy Klaus.
Discussions revolved around the overall situation in Lebanon and the region, particularly addressing the escalating Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, along with the Agency’s work programs for Palestinian refugees.
In a separate announcement, Speaker Berri summoned the parliamentary committees of Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, Education and Higher Education, Culture, National Economy, Trade, Industry, Planning, Foreign and Emigrants’ Affairs, Human Rights, Women, and Children.
They are called to convene for a joint session at 10:30 am next Monday, December 11, to scrutinize the items on the agenda.
