House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Wednesday received at his residence, in Ain El-Tineh, the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Committee, Major General Muhammad Khair, who briefed the Speaker on the outcome of the detection and surveying operations conducted by the Committee on the damages incurred by fishermen and the southern shore as a result of the environmental pollution that affected the Lebanese coast from Naqoura to Beirut due to the recent Israeli oil spill.

Emphasis during the meeting was made on the need to secure the necessary funds for compensating those affected, and to complete the operations of lifting the environmental damages off the Lebanese coast.
