Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri hosted a group from the US Treasury, led by Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Ahern, and US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea, in his Ain el-Tineh house on Tuesday.
Speaker Berri also greeted Rebekah Grindlay, the Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, who paid him a goodbye visit to mark the conclusion of her diplomatic tenure in Lebanon. During their visit, the two addressed bilateral relations between Lebanon and Australia.
Berri also broached local and regional developments, as well as Lebanese-British relations with visiting UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME), Air Marshal Martin Sampson, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Ian Collard.
On another level, Speaker Berri called on parliamentary committees to hold a joint session on Wednesday at 10:30 am.
