House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday welcomed at his Ain al-Tineh residence a delegation representing the US Treasury, which included Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Paul Ahern, and US Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea.
Speaker Berri also welcomed Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Rebekah Grindlay, who paid him a farewell visit marking the end of her diplomatic mission in Lebanon. During the visit, the pair discussed Lebanese-Australian bilateral relations.
Berri also broached local and regional developments, as well as Lebanese-British relations with visiting UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME), Air Marshal Martin Sampson, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Ian Collard.
On another level, Speaker Berri called on parliamentary committees to hold a joint session on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
