Bitar left the former Director of Intelligence, Brigadier General Camille Daher, under investigation

The judicial investigator in the Beirut port explosion crime, Judge Tariq Bitar, decided to leave the former Director of Intelligence, Brigadier General Camille Daher, under investigation, after an interrogation session, in the presence of his legal representative, lawyer Mark Habaka, that began at ten in the morning and lasted for seven hours.

Bitar’s decision came against the background of waiting for the investigations to be completed, data collection on the file, and the interrogation of a number of officers who were working with Daher during his tenure at the Intelligence Directorate.

On the other hand, a delegation of the families of the Beirut explosion victims met with the judicial investigator, Tariq Al-Bitar, at the Palace of Justice.

The families of the Beirut port explosion victims quoted the judicial investigator as saying that “the investigation is ongoing and there are several legal frameworks and means to summon and bring the defendants.”

After the meeting, the people affirmed their full support for the judge’s work and the measures he takes, and vowed to escalate their actions if investigations into the case continued to be obstructed.
