The judicial investigator in the Beirut port explosion case, Judge Tariq Bitar, confirmed, via a call with National News Agency, that some information published, quoting from his meeting with the victims families’ committee, is inaccurate,” noting that “no date has been set yet for issuing his indictment.” He also did not reveal to the victims’ families or others, the identity of any of the persons who would be accused of negligence or responsibility for the explosion of the port, and he did not address with them the issue of those arrested, stressing that “the investigation is carried out in absolutely confidential, and that the judicial investigator does not take any pre-decision, rather, his decisions remain dependent on the available information and data.”
