The black- market dollar exchange rate recorded this morning between 19350 and 19400 Lebanese pounds per dollar.
The exchange rate of the dollar on the black market recorded yesterday evening, an increase, ranging between 19600 and 19700 Lebanese pounds per dollar, after recording earlier between 19200 and 19300 Lebanese pounds per dollar.
The dollar exchange rate has returned to its upward path, bypassing the positive shock represented by the formation of the government. Observers point out that this rise is not surprising, but rather it was expected, and came to confirm that all the decline witnessed during the formation period was artificial and temporary.
Lebanese banks set the black market rate at 3,850 Lebanese pounds per dollar for withdrawal transactions of small depositors, a Law that remains in effect till present.
On the other hand, the Syndicate of Money Changers in Lebanon set the black market rate between 3,850 Lebanese pounds for purchase, and 3,900 LBP for sale, as a maximum.
The dollar exchange rate in the Central Bank of Lebanon remained at 1,507.5 pounds per dollar, and it is allocated to some basic commodities only.
