More than 8 million dollars from Japan to Lebanon

The Japanese Embassy in Lebanon revealed in a statement, that the country’s government “has provided 8.45 million US dollars in emergency assistance to the most needy people.”
This assistance project includes refugees and children who are going through crises, amid the harsh winte that increases Lebanon’s suffering. The embassy pointed out that this humanitarian assistance will include providing winter clothes, home repair kits, food, and safe drinking water, as well as promoting health and hygiene conditions. It will be implemented through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Food Program (WFP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
The embassy added in its statement: “We are fully aware of the seriousness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, where the real victims are always the most disadvantaged children and families. At a time when they are facing harsh winter conditions, Japan has decided to intensify its interventions to alleviate their suffering.” We hope that they will receive our message by helping that “the international community will stand by you at all times.”a friend in times of distress.
