During his discussion with Belgian Minister of Cooperation and Development Caroline Guinez, Abdullah Bou Habib, the caretaker minister of foreign affairs and expatriates, reaffirmed that the humanitarian and social situation in Syria cannot continue as it is.

“Early recovery and helping the Syrians in their country is a common European-Lebanese interest, so that the destination of asylum does not shift from Lebanon to Europe,” said the minister.

According to him, the European Union’s investment in the establishment and maintenance of Lebanese state institutions makes it more likely that the country’s institutions and official administration would prosper once more.
